"COMPULSARY STOP"
An artistic journey through Milan
"Today no urban map can lead
the way into a metropolis.
No road, no square, no avenue can delimit and distinguish
with clearness the central spaces, that once were the privileged spaces for social life and for general decisions from the outlying spaces,
once the production. No route although well studied up can manage to show to follow one another socially
and settled districts everyone with their own culture, everyone with
their own differential roles.
In the metropolis everything mix together, all the border are swept away, center and periphery.
Between residential zone and work places. The old, rational and monocentric space has been destroyed.
By the now the communication way controls the flows, the aggregations, the contacts, the consumption.
It‘s this last one that imposes and draw the new layout, imposes the new border, always temporary and confuses,
It’s impossible to copy on a map.
A mobile web, full of shops, discos, windows full of goods, long and signed tracking.
It’s a space like an unfitted puzzle, fragmented and disarticulated lacking of depth.
Unfortunately never by today, the knowing, the contact are not on the same wavelength with the daily life.
The metropolis is like the sea.
A sea that must be sailed.
www.SitArt.org promotes an artistic project; called COMPULSARY STOP a virtual route along the
tram line “n. 12” It’s a virtual journey that bend from CONSOLE MARCELLO Street UNGHERIA Avenue
from north to south crossing all the town. Virtual installations fit together in an imprudent and casual way,
apparently chaotic, creating a just visible aggregation, where the single pieces, built to fit together in operation of
a final harmony.
“Decided” to move in a freely way.
